GIFT SET MOMENTS
Our Gift Set ‘Moments’ is ideal for Matcha enthusiasts. It consists of our Matcha Horai (30g tin), a bamboo whisk (Chasen) and a Matcha sieve. All products are packed in a gift box with an elegant sleeve.
Horai is the pride of our organic tea farmers, a rare, high quality of Matcha. Mild, sweet and very soft in its aftertaste with its emerald green glowing color. In Japanese mythology, the term”Horai” stands for “the island of the blessed”. Premium Matcha Horai is the ideal tea for advanced Matcha lovers and ensures very relaxed moment full of bliss.
The quality of the Horai is so exquisite that we recommend to enjoy this matcha tea pure. Its fine taste makes it a great Matcha for Koicha – the strongest Matcha to be prepared. For this purpose, the Matcha is infused only with very little water, so that it is sometimes even served as a very thick liquid.
The bamboo whisk (Chasen) has been used for centuries to make the precious tea, which gives it its creamy, frothy texture. It is an elementary part of the Matcha ceremony. The chasen is made by hand, the bristles are carefully cut from a piece of bamboo and then shaped. Only specially trained craftsmen master this art-the knowledge is passed onwards by generations.
The Matcha sieve is a very useful tool to avoid lumping in your Matcha. By sieving the Matcha into your bowl before adding water, you can make sure to get the most creamy, soft foam.
Matcha can not only be prepared as a tea, but also offers a variety of options in the kitchen. Desserts such as ice cream or cake are just two of the endless possibilites one has.
To prepare Premium Matcha Horai, boil fresh and preferably soft water. Let the water cool to 80°C (for example, by pouring the water back and forth between cups three times or by opening the kettle and waiting 10 minutes). Place 1 gram of Horai matcha (two bamboo spoon or half a tea spoon) in a matcha bowl. Whisk the matcha for about 15 seconds until frothy using the bamboo whisk.
